Hi, my name is Matt. I make great video content possible. What can I enable for you?

Here’s some of my work:

Resume

I am a Mac and Linux-focused IT professional with a background in media. I have lifelong computer experience, natural curiosity and problem solving skills, and a wealth of knowledge across many disciplines. Here are my credentials:

Who I’ve Worked For

Chesapeake Systems — Baltimore, MD
From July of 2017 until now, I’ve been a member of the projects team, where I develop and implement hardware, software, and cloud systems for storage, media management, and archival to help media clients enable video content creation. I also assist with support team escalations for troubleshooting and solving complex problems in client environments.

Sirens Media — Silver Spring, MD
From March of 2015 until July of 2017, I helmed the IT department, performing network management, server and systems administration, data management, software & hardware deployment, laptop fleet management, and Tier 1 & 2 troubleshooting for a Mac-centric television production business.

Strayer University — Herndon, VA
From August of 2014 until January of 2015, I assisted the instructional design team with DSLR shooting, screen casting and editing, as well as equipment & software research and procurement to streamline media creation activities for the Jack Welch Management Institute online MBA program.

Bethesda Softworks — Rockville, MD
From May of 2008 until May of 2014, I created in-game video, concepts, trailers, television commercials, and other promotional material for the video games published by Bethesda Softworks. I coordinated with dev teams, producers, brand managers, and external agencies to deliver compelling videos in a variety of formats to myriad online and broadcast media outlets.

Modern VideoFilm — Burbank, CA
From September of 2006 until May of 2008, I created, duplicated and QCed DVDs of television and film production dailies, edited masters, and security film screeners from various tape and digital sources in a high-end, broadcast post-production environment.

What I Can Do

I am a former video editor turned video workflow expert. I have nearly 20 years of experience with digital video editing—as well as deep knowledge of tape and digital video standards, formats, and conversion—that informs my ability to design, implement, and support shared storage, archive and backup, media asset management, and other pro video workflow solutions for major media clients. I'm most experienced with Fibre Channel-based SANs involving Quantum StorNext, integrated with Linux- and Windows Server-based support systems, for primarily Mac-based client environments.

I also have a wide range of related and ancillary skills, knowledge and experience, including: non-linear video editing; videography and live production; compositing and motion graphics; on-set and studio voice recording, sound design and mixing; typography and print design.

Who Taught Me

I am proud to hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Media Arts and Design at James Madison University.
